The Discovery of America by Lorenzo Lopez
One Day The Conquistadors were going to India, a rich and famous country, so that they could be rich.
As they were on board they were getting tired and one of them was so bored that he drowned himself.
Then right when they were going to throw Columbus overboard, because they wanted to turn around, a man screamed “land………”. They went on a tiny boat so tiny that a man flipped off screaming.
They were in land, they saw trees they’ve never seen before, then brown men (not trying to be racist) ,in weird clothes, came in out of nowhere that one of the conquistadors got so scared, he fainted.
A few years later Amerigo Vespucci figured out that they were not in India but in a new continent that later was named after him.
People around the world visited America cause of the new and beautiful lands, jewelry, food, and lots and lots of gold.
People died trying to get there though, it was a long and dangerous journey they had to cross.
Not all of them tried to get there though, just so you know.
Nobody knew what might happen in the long and dangerous journey.
The ones who did die, didn't die in a miserable way, they did not think it was stupid to die on a ship trying to get to America, they felt grateful and what they said to themselves was…….
IT WAS WORTH IT.
Visiting St Augustine, Florida by Jacob Lopez
I Jacob Lopez de Gulf Shores has just visited St.augustine, the oldest city in the U.S.A. I will write about the good and things in this trip.
I will start with the good first. The food is just great there. They have all types of food from italian to Chinese. The city it self is a quite a site as well and shares alot of history for instance, they have an attraction where you go to the oldest house in the USA, and the oldest schoolhouse. All the buildings say that they are are from the past. More into the food part now. there is a little road with all italian and european food that is totally gnarly. the restaurant i went to is called " la trattoria" which means "the kitchen" in italian. You have to try the ravioli with the white wine sauce, it is really good.
Now to the bad parts. I wish to have a trip where I wouldnt have to write the bad parts down... But if people want to hear the truth then let the people hear the truth. If you don't like history and to look at buildings, then dont even step on st.augustine property. But if you like dessert and food then by all means make room on your calendar for st.augustine. for me, the oldest house was pretty boring honestly. so was the schoolhouse, but I dont like to look at old houses and learn about a house's history.... But if you like old houses, then you can come and you'll enjoy it
st.augustine was my first trip of being a world schooler and it was pretty fun. some parts were a bit boring but in the end, I learned a couple thing and enjoyed the trip. I do recommend coming here (for the food) and im sure you will enjoy the first city of the USA

The secret for being happy is accepting where you are in life and making the most out of everyday
We started our day taking the kids to play tennis. Naty starting learning when we were in Colombia during the process of her adoption. We stopped for a while and then resume when we moved to Gulf Shores. Now all 4 of them love to play and wherever we go they ask if there are tennis courts to play. After tennis we went for one of their favorite snack and daddy's too :), Dunkin donuts!! we don't have one at home so finding one here was a special treat. English lessons with Ms Amy as part of their daily routine and after that lunch at Al's Pizza and a quick stroll by Neptune beach.
We are beach lovers and even though we live by the beach now we still enjoy staying near the beach when we travel.

We learned a life lesson today riding the golf cart around the community. The lights to cross the street can only be seen from the driver "point of view". Only Jacob could see when the light changed but not the rest of us. We thought it was broken because we couldn't see it. Only when we see things with other's point of view can we understand what the other is going through.

And we had to try the M Shack milkshakes, I wish we had't tried them though, I thing I found my new obsession!!!

Until one has loved an animal, a part of one's soul has remains unawakened
We said good bye to Leo and Fercho and then had some cuddle time with their furry baby Sam. We could tell he knew they were leaving and as soon as they were out the door he started missing them. It's amazing how us humans can get to love a pet and how they love us back. They are part of family and we'll love on Sam as much as we can while his parents are away.
Pontevedra and the Nocatee neighborhood are gorgeous. The location, the trails, the greenery, the forest and lakes surrounding the community and of course the beautiful houses. We are loving this place and the kids are excited to experience life here this week. We drive the golf cart to the supermarket, restaurants, tennis courts and lots of different places.
We are learning about the Age of the explorers, America before Columbus and Colonial times. It was fun to see some wild pig running around in the forest just like we've learned in history.
ON Saturday we'll visit St Augustine, the oldest city in the US and we"ll get to live some of the history that we've learned in the last weeks.

Families are like branches on a tree. We grow in different directions yet our roots remain as one.
Tio Fercho y tia Leo have lived in Florida for a while now and we love when we get to see them. This time we are taking care of their sweet dog Sam while they're in Spain but we got to see them the night before their trip. The kids loved their sweet treats and always enjoy their jokes and spunk personality. We are so lucky to have them in our lives and to be able to see them once in a while. One of the many joys of homeschooling is to be able to visit our family more often.

The kids love when tio Fercho check their hearts and lungs. They get to play Doctor and even learn some biology lessons.

And then, a good bye dinner before they fly to Spain the next day!!

In life, it's not where you go, it's who you travel with.- Charles Schulz
We're so excited to start our roadschooling/worldschooling travels!!
Finally after months of planning and preparation, our dream is coming true and we begin a series of trips with a house/pet in Jacksonville, FL. My sister and her husband will be in Spain for a week and we get to take care of their sweet furry baby Sam while they're away. Once in Jacksonville, we'll visit Saint Augustine. We are studying the age of the explorers and we can't wait to visit the oldest city in the US.
Traveling as a family is one of the gifts I treasure most and being able to teach the kids while we get to experience all these adventures gives my heart so much joy. Let the travels begin!
